What impacts did Roman Britain have on the English language?

How did it change, what Roman/Latin words were adopted into English (that we use today). What changes were made in reference to some of the following - Phonetics, Morphology, Lexicology, Syntax, Discourse and Semantics. How did it effect the culture and society, and in turn, effect language?
